A new venture aimed at helping Portuguese businesses thrive on Amazon and generate B2B leads through artificial intelligence has been launched by Nuno Pimenta, a seasoned executive with over 11 years at Google, and Miguel Pina Martins, the entrepreneur behind Science4you – the brand with record sales on Amazon.
Growth Ignition, according to a report from ECO, began operations in March and is already working with ten clients across various sectors.
The company’s approach is twofold: enabling Portuguese retailers and manufacturers to scale internationally via Amazon, and using AI to automate lead generation by aggregating and analyzing data from platforms like LinkedIn and company contact lists.
“Our approach is that of a deep relationship with our clients and in which the partners are very involved, and that is why we want to grow in a sustained way, always ensuring this monitoring,” Pina Martins told the publication.
He draws on his experience with Science4you, a science and educational toy brand that has already surpassed €4 million in sales across Europe and the United States and aims to reach €10 million within the next three years. Pina Martins is also the co-founder of Chief Portugal Officers and the Game Changers Forum, two initiatives focused on business leadership and innovation in Portugal.
His co-founder and Growth Ignition CEO, Pimenta, is a seasoned entrepreneurial executive with extensive Google experience, a former non-executive board member of the E-Commerce Association in Portugal, and currently VP of Revenue at Bizay – a leading marketplace for personalized products operating in over 20 markets and generating more than €50 million in revenue.
“In the area of AI marketing automation, in the first month, we scheduled more than 100 commercial meetings, most of them international,” Pina Martins, chairman of Growth Ignition, was quoted as saying.
On the Amazon front, some clients achieved close to €10,000 in sales during their first month, with forecasts pointing to €250,000 by December, he explained.
Growth Ignition’s short-term goal is to reach €500,000 in turnover by the end of 2025 and €2 million in 2026, with a client base of 30-40 companies.
The business is currently self-funded. Pina Martins said that once the proof of concept is complete, they may consider seeking external capital.
“We are building a company for the long term, so we are not obsessed with payback, but with creating an excellent service for our customers,” he added. The amount invested by the founders was not disclosed.
To support its growth, the company is hiring for key roles, including head of operations, head of Amazon, head of AI lead generation, and customer success managers.
Growth Ignition’s dual focus on Amazon marketplace optimization and AI-powered lead generation aligns with significant market trends.
Global trends underscore the relevance of Growth Ignition’s services. The global e-commerce market is projected to reach approximately $7.39 trillion in 2025, accounting for 23.6% of total retail sales, with Asia leading at $1.98 trillion in revenue.
Simultaneously, the global AI for sales and marketing market is estimated to grow from $57.99 billion in 2025 to $240.58 billion by 2030, a CAGR of 32.9%. This growth is fueled by demand for automation, personalized engagement, and data-driven insights that enhance lead generation and predictive analytics.
Meanwhile, AI-driven lead generation is delivering strong results: In 2025, AI-driven lead generation is expected to boost sales-ready leads by 50% while cutting costs by 60%, delivering impressive results.
