Portugal’s leading mobile app developer Air Apps has opened a new hub in San Francisco, part of a strategic effort to strengthen its presence in the United States, which accounts for the majority of its user base, International Business Times reports.
With a portfolio of more than 30 productivity, communication, and translation apps – and over 100 million downloads worldwide – the company is now planting deeper roots in the global tech capital.
The new San Francisco office is designed to replicate the collaborative workspace Air Apps built in Lisbon, while positioning the company closer to key technology partners like Apple and Google.
Located on the U.S. West Coast, the Air Hub enables closer collaboration within Silicon Valley’s tech ecosystem and serves multiple functions, including team coordination, strategic partnerships, and community engagement within San Francisco’s technology sector.
Alongside the opening of its new office, Air Apps announced an update to its flagship application, Translate Now, according to the report.
The app now features hands-free, real-time translation that activates automatically during conversations, without requiring any user input. This innovation aims to support more natural communication across languages, especially for travelers and international business users.
To mark its arrival in San Francisco, Air Apps introduced a Tesla Cybertruck wrapped in distinctive 1970s-inspired colors. The vehicle toured from the San Francisco Bay Area to Las Vegas, culminating at the Air Conference held June 23–27 at the Luxor Hotel & Casino.
The annual event brings together Air Apps employees globally to collaborate and review product development.
