Litehaus, a Portuguese startup focused on sustainable and cost-effective housing through 3D printing, has launched what it describes as the “first” native AI agent for the residential construction sector in Portugal.

The newly introduced platform is designed to significantly simplify the homebuilding process by streamlining communication between key stakeholders, including builders, architects, banks, and landowners, the company said in a statement.

The integrated AI system supports users across all phases of a construction project – from initial planning to final execution – by automating and optimizing complex workflows.

The tool is being developed using advanced language models and will integrate third-party technologies alongside in-house features. This allows the system to adapt to the specific demands of architecture and construction, enabling faster, more practical decision-making throughout the process.

The AI agent follows the July launch of Litehaus’s “Get a Quote in 2 Minutes” tool, which helps users estimate home construction costs directly on the company’s website. In its first few weeks, the feature generated 640 quotes, totaling over €125 million in projected construction volume.

Litehaus plans to combine both solutions into a unified digital platform by October. Once integrated, users will be able to identify suitable construction partners, apply for financing, handle local permits, and search for available plots – all within a single online environment.

Founded in 2024 by Simi and Thibault Launay, the company is headquartered in Portugal and also operates in Spain, Estonia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. Despite its international presence, Litehaus continues to prioritize the Iberian market.

“We are completely reinventing the way homes are built in Portugal. We are using technology and artificial intelligence to make building a home as simple as buying one,” Thibault Launay, co-founder of Litehaus, was quoted in the statement.

To support growing demand, the company plans to expand its network of partner factories. In Portugal, Litehaus has an active partnership with ComparaJá, connecting the platform to 10 major national banks to facilitate project financing.

Globally, Litehaus works with more than 15 construction companies, including eight in Portugal. The company’s team of 15 employees includes professionals with backgrounds in architecture, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and construction.

Litehaus recently closed a €1.46 million investment round with participation from funds such as Portuguese Explorer Investments and UK-based Cornerstone VC.

The capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand the company’s network of traditional and modular construction partners. As part of this growth strategy, Litehaus has appointed Antonio Pianca as head of product.

Looking ahead, the company also plans to launch a new platform for architects in two weeks.

Co-founder Simi Launay told Portugal Startup News that this upcoming release is designed to help architects better support their clients throughout the construction process.

“I am super excited about the platform we are launching for architects,” she said. “We are building the tech and legal framework for architects to help their clients secure financing, identify the right builder, and get a quote in two minutes.”
