Enhanced Fertility and Teemy have been announced as the winners of this year’s Road 2 Web Summit awards, with Enhanced Fertility receiving the €15,000 Most Promising Startup Award and Teemy taking the €5,000 prize for Best Bootcamp Performance, ECO reports

Enhanced Fertility, founded by CEO Andreia Trigo and CTO Frank Sullivan, focuses on improving access to fertility diagnostics and treatment. The company aims to help bring one million babies into the world by using data to support clinicians in speeding up diagnosis and treatment.

According to the World Health Organization, infertility affects around one in six people globally during their lifetime, highlighting the scale of the challenge their technology aims to address.

Teemy, the second winner, is a tourism- and culture-focused app that encourages people to explore real places through gamified experiences. Users unlock points of interest, events, and challenges by visiting them in person, earning digital stickers stored in a personal wallet.

Some stickers can be traded or sold, while others remain exclusive. The app also allows users to chat with nearby people, promoting safe and spontaneous social interaction.

This year, 115 startups took part in the Road 2 Web Summit program, a joint initiative by Startup Portugal and Web Summit that helps Portugal’s most promising early-stage startups present their innovations at the globally recognized technology conference.

This brings the total number of startups supported since the initiative began in 2016 to more than one thousand. The cohort has already raised around €40 million.

“The Road 2 Web Summit represents much more than a support program – it is the starting point of countless success stories,” Miguel Aguiar, executive director of Startup Portugal, was quoted as saying by ECO.

He noted that Portugal now counts more than 5,000 startups and said the ecosystem continues to gain scale, talent, and international visibility, establishing itself as one of the most dynamic and innovative in Europe.

Startup Portugal selected companies from across the country, with the 2025 cohort covering sectors such as artificial intelligence, healthtech, cleantech, proptech, fintech, logistics, hardware, and IoT. This year’s edition included bootcamps in Lisbon and Porto, culminating in the awards announced during Web Summit.
