Web Summit closed 2025 with revenues exceeding €100 million, up from €17 million in 2020 and nearly doubling since 2023, and is adding 60 new roles, including “at least 20” in Lisbon.
CEO Paddy Cosgrave shared the revenue milestone in a LinkedIn post, describing 2025 as a “historic” year for the technology conference organization and expressing hope that 2026 will be even better.
He did not mention which specific events contributed most to last year’s results. In addition to its flagship event in Lisbon, Web Summit also holds events in Brazil, Qatar, and Canada, reflecting the organization’s international footprint.

Cosgrave highlighted the company’s growth as a bootstrapped Irish-Portuguese company and credited the team for scaling the business despite challenges.
“We’re excited to announce we’re growing our team with 60 new jobs, mostly in sales and engineering, production and finance. We’re hiring for remote, hybrid and in-office roles with immediate starts across all roles in Dublin, Lisbon and around the world,” he said.
Web Summit’s CEO added that further details about the open roles are available on the company’s careers page.
According to an unnamed official quoted by ECO, at least 20 of the new roles will be based in Lisbon, representing a 20% increase in Web Summit’s workforce in Portugal.
The source said the company currently employs 109 people in the country, accounting for 37% of its total staff.
