Lisbon-based healthtech startup Chrono Health has closed a €2.7 million pre-seed funding round led by 3xP Global to support the development of a patient-centric health data platform targeting the United States market.

According to a statement, Chrono Health positions itself as a health intelligence layer aimed at addressing the fragmentation of medical data across hospitals, insurers, and platforms.

Founded and led by Catarina Kemper, the company is building a solution designed to centralize patient health information into a single lifelong system, allowing users to access their clinical history and biological data regardless of healthcare providers, tests, or points of care.

Health information, including medical records, reported symptoms, and laboratory results, is structured chronologically to provide a timeline view of a user’s health history.

The system also integrates data from wearable devices to support real-time monitoring and the identification of patterns across different health indicators. Artificial intelligence is used to analyze this combined data and generate simplified recommendations intended to support preventive care and health planning.

Users can upload and track blood test results and biomarkers over time, and the product provides personalized suggestions for preventive exams and health actions based on individual history and reported symptoms. The company says all data is encrypted and that users control when and with whom their information is shared.

The decision to enter the U.S. market from day one was driven by the scale and structural complexity of the healthcare system and the large number of stakeholders involved in the delivery, financing, and management of care.

Public data supports the size and complexity of this market. U.S. healthcare spending accounts for around 18% of GDP, remaining well above comparable developed economies.

Multiple industry and policy reports have also identified limited interoperability between electronic health record systems as a persistent structural issue in the U.S. healthcare system.

Diogo Moreira-Rato, board member at 3xP Global, said the company addresses what he described as a core systemic limitation.

“Chrono Health is tackling a structural problem in the American healthcare system: information fragmentation and the lack of a longitudinal view of the patient. We see a team building with global ambition and a clear value proposition for the U.S. market.”

With this investment, the company plans to accelerate the development of its platform, strengthen its team, and consolidate its U.S. operations.

The CEO of Chrono Health said the Portuguese capital was chosen for talent and product development, while the United States was selected as the reference market for the company’s initial growth and market focus.

“We chose Lisbon as our base for talent and product development, but the United States as our reference market. It’s where the problem is biggest, where expectations are highest, and where a patient-centric solution can generate real impact at scale,” Kemper noted.
