U.S.-based Superhuman has agreed to acquire Rows, bringing the Portuguese spreadsheet company into its expanding AI productivity platform.

The deal, announced separately by both companies, will see the Rows team join Superhuman from Porto. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded by Humberto Ayres Pereira and Torben Schulz, Rows built a spreadsheet product that connects directly to business tools and simplifies complex data work through live integrations, no-code plain-language automation, and an AI data analyst built directly into the experience.

According to Rows, more than 2.2 million people have used its solution over the past nine years, executing over 17 billion spreadsheet functions, importing data from business tools more than 8.3 billion times, and running more than 800,000 AI Analyst prompts.

In a statement, the Superhuman team said Rows “has built technology that connects spreadsheets directly to business tools and brings AI into everyday data workflows,” adding that it is “excited to welcome their team as we continue expanding Superhuman as an AI productivity platform for apps and agents.”

Superhuman said the acquisition strengthens its broader strategy of building what it calls the “Superhuman Suite,” which brings together Grammarly, Coda, Mail, and Go into a single AI-native system.

Within that system, Coda serves as the all-in-one workspace where teams plan, build, and execute. The Rows team is expected to contribute to enhancing Coda’s capabilities for data-driven collaboration and analysis.

“Their work enabled a direct path from raw information to usable insights,” Superhuman said, noting that Rows spent years making sophisticated data tools accessible to teams without requiring deep technical expertise.

For Rows’ co-founders, the move reflects strategic alignment with Superhuman’s broader platform ambitions.

Superhuman’s mission to “unlock the superhuman potential in everyone” resonated with them from the earliest conversations, Pereira, CEO, and Schulz, COO, wrote in a joint statement.

They said that, over the years, Rows developed deep technical expertise in designing reliable integrations with live business data and in building AI systems capable of turning raw data into clear answers through plain language.

Joining Superhuman, they added, allows them to apply that experience “on a broader scale,” with a particular focus on strengthening Coda within the suite.

Once the acquision is finalized, Rows plans to gradually sunset its product over the next three months as part of the transition. Rows.com will fully wind down on May 31, 2026.

The company said it is committed to supporting customers during this period, and that current users will receive detailed communication outlining next steps.

“While this chapter is coming to a close, we’re excited for what’s ahead as we bring our experience into Superhuman and continue building tools that help people do their best work,” the founders noted.

Superhuman said it is “excited to welcome our new colleagues and connect with Porto’s vibrant tech talent community” as it continues to expand its European presence alongside its existing hubs in Berlin, Warsaw, and Kyiv.
