What we’re looking for

We welcome contributions that are:

Original: Your article must be original and unpublished elsewhere.
Relevant: Focused on startups, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, investment, or business developments in Portugal.
Insightful: Provides valuable insights through well-researched information, data analysis, or first-hand experience.
Clear and concise: Professionally written, easy to read, and free from overly promotional language.

Ecosystem trends and analyses
Thought leadership from industry insiders
Commentary on startup policies, investment trends, and funding models
Behind-the-scenes insights into startup operations and culture
Personal reflections on failure, growth, and career transitions
Data-driven analyses that identify common patterns or challenge conventional wisdom

Submission guidelines

Length: 800–1,200 words
Format: Please attach your submission as a Word document or share it via Google Docs.
Images: Please attach high-resolution images or videos if available (only royalty-free or owned content), along with captions and descriptions where applicable.
Links: If you cite external information such as data or statistics, please hyperlink the relevant keywords.
Bio: Please include a short author bio (2–3 sentences), links to your online profile(s) and platform(s), and a high-quality headshot (optional).

AI assistance

As a tech-focused media publication, Portugal Startup News embraces technology, including AI, to support the content creation process. However, our priority is always the quality and integrity of the work.

Contributors may use AI assistance, provided it does not undermine the article’s originality, accuracy, or overall quality.

After all, your article will be published under your byline, and we want to ensure you are represented in the best possible light. We also want our readers to benefit from well-crafted content that honors their time and delivers meaningful value.

Editorial process

Submission: Please send us a short pitch or a full draft at info@portugalstartupnews.com.
Review: Our editorial team will review your piece and respond within 3 business days.
Edit: We may suggest edits to improve clarity, accuracy, or other aspects if necessary.
Publication: Once finalized, the article will be published in the “Insights” section of our website and promoted on LinkedIn.

Rights and republishing

By submitting content, you grant Portugal Startup News the right to edit (within reasonable limits and solely for language accuracy, without altering your message, data, or facts), publish, and distribute your article across our platforms.

Contributors retain copyright but agree not to republish the article in full elsewhere.

They may use excerpts of the article, provided proper attribution is given to the original source.

Compensation

At this time, we unfortunately cannot offer payment for contributions. We deeply appreciate your generosity in sharing your insights and expertise with our community.
