The 2026 edition of Startup World Cup Portugal has selected 50 startups ahead of the national final scheduled for June 17 and 18 at Unicorn Factory Lisbon.
As reported by ECO, 40 of these startups will deliver a one-minute pitch, while 10 finalists will advance to a second stage featuring a five-minute presentation followed by a three-minute Q&A session. A jury panel will evaluate the final round and select the winning startup of the Portuguese edition.
The event is organized by Linhas Comunicação, Fasttrack Ventures, and Unicorn Factory Lisboa, with Caixa Capital acting as a strategic partner. The edition will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, companies, and ecosystem leaders from Portugal and abroad.
The winning startup will represent Portugal at the global Startup World Cup grand finale in San Francisco in November, where it will compete for a $1 million investment prize awarded by Pegasus Tech Ventures.
Caixa Capital has also reserved €1 million for a potential investment in startups participating in the Portuguese edition.
The capital may be invested in one or two companies selected from the group of 50 startups. The decision will be made independently by Caixa Capital, subject to due diligence and final agreement, and does not depend on the competition outcome.
